Barbara Ficarra, RN, BSN, MPA, is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster, speaker, media trainer, health expert and spokesperson. She is host and executive producer of the Health in 30® Radio Show, a program that empowers listeners to take charge of their health. Barbara is founder and editor-in-chief of Healthin30.com. Her blogs on Healthin30.com offer practical advice for spectacular health, focusing on prevention and patient empowerment.
Barbara is active on the front lines of health care, serving as administrative head nurse at a level 2 trauma center. She covers multiple medical and surgical units, including critical care, oncology, cardiology, women’s and children’s health, psychiatric inpatient and pediatric ER. Barbara is patient advocate who encourages patients and their families to be proactive in their health and to always speak up and ask questions.
Barbara writes for Huffingtonpost.com and contributes to Healthandwellnessexpert.com, Healthcommentary.org, Helpchangehealthcare.com and Healthcare.com. A popular speaker at professional conferences, she has been faculty at the American Medical Association’s Medical Communications Conference from 2007 to 2009.
