Let Your Voice Be Heard

The ‘Health Care Idea Generator” — an interesting new concept from American Public MediaI recently received a nice note from Brad Robideau at American Public Media, producer and distributor of public radio programs, including Marketplace. He was alerting me to a great participatory platform they’ve created called the Health Care Idea Generator.

According to Brad, "The Health Care Idea Generator is an online activity that allows the public to share ideas and solutions regarding America’s health care system.  Ideas ranging from small improvements to sweeping overhauls can be entered and discussed. It’s widely accepted that the American health care system is broken. But depending where you find yourself within the system, ‘broken’ can mean different things to different people. The Health Care Idea Generator asks caregivers, insurers, employers, the insured and the uninsured, ‘What challenges have you seen … and how can we tackle them?’ Using this forum, people can share their ideas and rate or modify the ideas offered by others, too. Ideas can be sorted in a variety of ways—by keyword, geography, or list—to provide a range of entry points into the discussion."

I think this is a neat way to dip your feet in to the health care debate. I really like the idea that you’re able to rate, modify and add to the conversation – very Wiki!
