Exploring Human Potential

DAILY CHOICE: Experienced vs. Inexperienced

REFLECTION:

To what do we owe experience? Mostly time. Sometimes place or privilege. Recording life is not the same as living life, but merely a dampened down safe substitute. Experience can be, often is painful. Count on a few scars. It’s a rocky road to maturity, with courage rising with each step. Standing still bequeaths no strength. Momentum is required. No one gets there overnight. Experience is skills and learning built on other skills and learnings. First walk, then fly. Experience is not a list of happenings but rather the effect of the happenings on one human life. While there may be nothing new, to you, it’s new. And each time the learning must be extracted. Just because someone else walked the road doesn’t mean she walked it for you. Take your own path, not in dreams but in the flesh. Grow into yourself and then grow out of yourself. Begin a taker and become a giver.
